Hey! It’s Earth Day, which feels like the perfect time to have a little chat about why we do what we do here at Be Diddy.
We’re big fans of second-hand, vintage bits for kids — not just ‘cos they look cool (although they obv do), but because it actually makes a difference. Yep, even those tiny dungarees can help save the planet. Who knew?
👶 Little Humans Grow Fast (Like, Really Fast)
One minute they’re in babygrows, next minute they’re nicking your crisps and insisting they’re a dinosaur.
All that growing means they go through loads of clothes. And let’s be honest, buying everything brand new? Not the best for your wallet or the planet.
That’s why we love vintage. Clothes that have been worn, loved, and still have plenty of life left in ‘em? That’s our vibe. Less waste, less fast fashion, and way more fun.
♻️ Why Second-Hand Is Kinda a Big Deal
-
It keeps clothes out of landfill (those little socks gotta go somewhere!)
-
It cuts down on all the stuff it takes to make new things — water, energy, all that.
-
It helps slow down the mad cycle of buy-wear-chuck.
-
And let’s be honest, the looks are just better — you’re not gonna find a ‘90s rainbow fleece in the supermarket, are you?
Basically, it’s good for the planet, and your kid looking the coolest is an added bonus.
🌿 Easy Earth Day Things to Do With Your Kids
If you’re up for doing a little something for Earth Day, here are a few super chill ideas:
-
Have a wardrobe sort-out – pass on the bits they’ve grown out of.
-
Buy one thing second-hand – doesn’t have to be from us, just try it!
-
Make something from recycling – robots out of cereal boxes? Classic.
-
Get outside – an after school lap around the park does wonders.
-
Read a book about nature – “Somebody Swallowed Stanley” is a good shout.
Nothing fancy — just little things that add up.
💛 Thanks for Being Here
Honestly, every time you buy from us, share a post, or send us a message, you’re helping us keep lovely clothes in circulation and out of landfill. You're also proving that style doesn’t have to come with a side of waste.
So cheers to that.
Happy Earth Day, pals 🌍💫
Big love,
Kayleigh x
